An exclusive 5-star hotel, located in the heart of Milan, is looking for a Senior Accountant.

​

 

Essential Functions:

​

Assist the Controller in managing and maintaining each area of accounting, with a special focus on:

  • Accounts payable: aging review, payment arrangements.

  • Accounts receivable and management of overdue receivables.

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of administrative activities in support of the general ledger.

  • Check purchasing procedures to ensure that all payments have duly authorized documents.

  • Work closely with all department teams to ensure procedures are properly followed.

  • Maintain an organized archive to document registrations and payments.

  • Manage suppliers and make purchases.

  • Support the Controller and heads of departments in creating effective and efficient work schedules to control labor costs, maintaining an organized archive, and performing related administrative tasks.

  • Assist the Controller in ensuring compliance with all regulatory rules within the area of responsibility and report potential issues to him.

  • Assist the Controller in ensuring accuracy of financial statements.

  • Assist the Controller in implementing accounting and administrative procedures for all areas of the hotel.

  • Prepare month-end journal entries and assist with accounts receivable-related accounts reconciliation by posting month-end information (P&L).

  • Promote and demonstrate superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

  • Resolve issues and ensure resolution.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, or equivalent studies, is required.

  • 5-7 years of previous accounting & administration experience, preferably in the hotel industry.

  • Strong communication/presentation skills (verbal, listening, writing). Reporting in English language is mandatory.

  • Strong financial and business acumen.

  • Strong organizational/analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to use standard software accounting applications (Meta, Zucchetti) and hotel systems (Protel); technology-savvy.

  • The candidate must be currently residing in Milano (Ideally).
